The Solar features accommodation in rooms and an apartment. The rooms all feature a private bathroom, satellite TV and mountain views.
Guests of the apartment are welcome to prepare their meals in the fully-equipped kitchen of the unit. A homemade breakfast, featuring a variety of jams and local delicacies, is served each morning at the property.

A comfortable lounge, with sofas and a fireplace is also a part of the property, where guests can quietly enjoy a book or the scenic mountain surroundings. The famed São Vicente Caves, one of the most emblematic landmarks in Madeira, are a 5-minute drive away. The tranquil Solar overlooks the S. Vicente Valley and the green mountains of the Laurissilva Forest. It is an ideal starting point to explore the northern coast of the island and enjoy its landscapes.
The Madeira International Airport is a 42-minute drive from the Solar da Bica. São Vicente is on the north coast of the island of Madeira, which is characterised by breathtaking verdant scenery overhanging the deep blue sea. The mountains and diminutive houses spread along the valley, giving it a majestic air. São Vicente is one of the friendliest and most welcoming places on the island, with its clearly rural atmosphere. The narrow stone paved streets and stairways in front of the parish church are so attractive that they appear on one of the postcards of São Vicente.
Serenity reigns in streets closed to traffic and where the old shops remind us of a time when shopping centres did not exist. The Solar da Bica provides its guests with a personalised, quality service in a home-like atmosphere, offering a comfortable stay and the experience of a privileged contact with nature. Apart from the 3 rooms in the main house, there are also 11 modern, fully equipped rooms in a new wing of the installations. The building, with modern architecture, looks entirely in place in the oldest and most luxuriant landscape of the site and provides a functional setting for rest and leisure.
In addition to the listed facilities the hotel has a central patio made with a centrepiece of volcanic rock flagstones.
Lovers of grilled food have a fully equipped kitchen at their disposal with a traditional fireplace, tables and chairs which afford a welcoming area for socialising.
For those wishing a complete rest, traditional tasting meals may be provided. The communal area is based around an old press. It overlooks the valley and the tops of the mountains, which constitute the spectacular views that the windows provide.
Children have a place here to play, and adults to have a drink or simply enjoy some socialising. A wood burning fireplace, for use on cooler days, makes the Solar da Bica even more welcoming.
